In Lieu of a Social Life or Reading Harry Potter for 31 Hours Straight

Big A's favorite part: A shelf with her seashell collection and a picture of one of the sand castles that we've built.

The spot to daydream while looking out the window section:

The sign hanging above her stereo says, "Courage".

My favorite part of the room:

The poem by ee cummings that I painted on the wall reads:
i carry your heart with me (i carry it in my heart)
i am never without it (anywhere i go you go, my dear and whatever is done by only me is your doing, my darling)
i fear no fate (for you are my fate, my sweet)
i want no world (for beautiful you are my world, my true)
and you are whatever a moon has always meant
and whatever a sun will always sing is you
here is the deepest secret nobody knows:
(here is the root of the root and the bud of the bud and the sky of the sky of a tree called life; which grows higher than the soul can hope of mind can hide)
and this is the wonder that is keeping the stars apart:
i carry your heart (i carry it in my heart)

And carry it, I do my love.
Long live the queen.

  1. Looks great! IF I ever get around to painting my house, hubby says my allotted time will be small. I swore I could have it done in two days. He's gonna hold me to it. Will be expecting to see you there. BYOB!

  15. Beautiful room, Jenn - every girl should have a place like that, where they are surrounded with the love and their little, pretty treasures.

So how do you feel about doing a master bedroom in PA? :)

  19. Very cute and very inspiring! I stripped the Dalmation/Fire Engine wallpaper from my oldest son's walls four months ago, and have yet to get in there and paint. I hate painting. I really, really do. But you're making me feel very very slothful and pathetic. :?)
